Making Windmills

Social project · Music and inclusion

Music can transform what we have lived through. Making Windmills · Creando Molinos

An initiative led by Vasco Hernández and Vanesa Lledó, turning music into support for spinal cord injury research, inclusion and the creation of new opportunities.

01 · The origin

A human response transformed into action.

Making Windmills began after a severe spinal cord injury and a long period of hospital care experienced by Vanesa Lledó. Vasco Hernández placed his work as a guitarist and composer at the service of a cultural initiative with a clear purpose: to help.

Its first public presentations described the project as a music campaign supporting research connected with Spain’s National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo. Half of the proceeds from the concert held at the Círculo de Arte on 8 June 2019 were allocated to that purpose.

Known in Spanish as Creando Molinos, the project was conceived with an international outlook: to travel, open cultural spaces and turn artistic creation into a practical social tool.

This page does not turn a private experience into a promotional device. It preserves the positive meaning of the initiative, brings together its public record and acknowledges the people who helped shape it.

Growth does not always mean leaving experience behind. Sometimes it means giving it a new direction.

02 · The actions

Concerts, workshops and places to meet.

Public records show a project broader than a concert series: live music, awareness and adapted instruments designed to make percussion accessible to people with different abilities.

01

Benefit concerts

Vasco Hernández’s guitar and compositions formed the artistic core of a campaign aimed at raising funds and awareness.

02

Cajón for everyone

Inclusive workshops developed and taught by Vanesa Lledó using her own cajones and a teaching method she created, presented at different events and covered by regional television in Castilla-La Mancha.

03

Art and growth

Artistic practice understood as a space for autonomy, emotional expression and personal development.
