BIOGRAPHY
Vasco Hernández
Composer, flamenco guitarist and solo artist

Vasco Hernández is a Spanish guitarist and composer with Hispanic-Portuguese roots whose artistic journey spans more than three decades. His work grows from flamenco guitar while remaining open to contemporary composition, concert music and a personal language shaped by travel, experience and memory.
He began performing his own work in Madrid in 1993. Since then, he has appeared as a soloist and as part of different ensembles, bringing his music to stages, festivals and cultural spaces across numerous European countries and the Americas. Rather than reducing that journey to a short list of places, his career is best understood as an ongoing international path built through concerts, collaborations and encounters with audiences from many cultures.

An individual musical voice
His playing combines rhythmic precision, expressive depth and a strong sense of musical architecture. Tradition is not treated as a museum piece, but as a living language: a foundation from which new forms, colours and narratives can emerge.
As a composer, Vasco Hernández creates music in which flamenco identity coexists with intimacy, reflection and a contemporary sensibility. His work seeks emotional clarity without abandoning technical ambition, and virtuosity serves the musical idea rather than becoming an end in itself.

Luz de Otra Manera
His recording project Luz de Otra Manera reached listeners in more than 150 cities. By 8 August 2026, his music had accumulated 1,667,947 streams on Spotify, reflecting an audience that extends beyond geographical and stylistic borders.
Noctambulosis
A period marked by caregiving, night work and long hours of wakefulness became an unexpected creative territory. Out of that experience emerged Noctambulosis: a musical and conceptual universe connected with the night, inner transformation, resilience and the decision to continue creating even under difficult circumstances.
Today, Vasco Hernández continues to develop new music, live projects and a body of work that places flamenco guitar in dialogue with the present.
